Show Support For Health Care Reform after the Supreme Court Decision Announcement!   Join Doctors for America on Thursday, June 28,  6:00 pm to 7:00 pm, Courthouse Square in Dayton.  If you want to carpool from Greene County contact Lynn Buffington at 657-0426.  Below is the full message from Don Nguyen, MD of Doctors for America;

This is it, the week when America is going to find out what the Supreme Court of the US going to say about the Affordable Care Act and the provision of the individual mandate to purchase health insurance coverage. Some say it’s going to be Monday, some say on Thursday. Regardless of the ruling, the sun will still rise the following day, we, as physicians will continue to care for our patients the best way we know how, and we will continue to uphold the Hippocratic oath. There will be some who claim victory, and some who will be resigned to defeat. Yet, as doctors and health care providers, we should always subscribe to the motto at Doctors For America, which is “PATIENTS OVER POLITICS”, always.

Doctors For America would like to invite all citizens in the Greater Dayton to hold a vigil on the steps of the Downtown Court House Square (corner of 3rd and Main street) on Thursday, June 28th, from 6:00 – 7:00 PM. We will hope and pray that the SCOTUS will make the best decision and ruling on the Affordable Care Act, so that Americans receive the kind of health care that they deserve, that they are not discriminated against based on age, gender, race, or ability to pay, that when they fall sick and become most vulnerable, that the health care system will not fail them, that the insurance companies will not cheat them or use immoral practices to discriminate against them, that when they fall onto hard economic times that the health safety net will be there for them, that when they are in the twilight of their years, that the Medicare and Medicaid system will be there for them and continue to provide peace of mind.

Doctors For America would like to invite and reach out to all faith communities in the Greater Dayton to join all of us, physicians, medical students, nurses, health care providers, patients, concerned citizens at the vigil in solidarity.

Please pass this message to everyone who might want to join us. I hope that you will make time to attend this event. Some have said that the Supreme Court ruling on the Affordable Care Act will be forever edged into the history of this nation as one of the most momentous high court decisions ever. We can only hope that the SCOTUS would adopt the same motto at Doctors for America of “PATIENTS OVER POLITICS”.

In solidarity,

Donald Nguyen, MD, FAAP
